Toccata 1 update and my ornaments

I’m continuing to make a lot of progress on Toccata 1!

I have about 13 more motifs until I can’t do more without my thread order. One motif is all Queen stitch so that will take a whole stitching session but otherwise I’ve been doing about 5 motifs a day so I should arrive at a temporary stopping point this week.

I took down my Christmas tree this weekend. I decided to photograph all my stitched ornaments together.

Wow it’s a lot! I didn’t count them but it is a lot. Most I made with about 25% made by my Mom and Grandma. There is one made by a friend and the big rainbow angel I rescued off eBay as an unfinished stitch which I turned it into an ornament. Anyway I thought you’d like to see them before they are put away! Next year I’ll try to get a picture of them on the tree!

I hope you have a great week with lots of stitching time!

  1. Definitely a lot of Christmas ornies! Your house must seem so bare without them now.
You’re still stitching up a storm on Tocatta… a January finish perhaps? 🙂

    1. I hope I’ll have an “almost” finish this week but I won’t have the rest of the threads until next month at the earliest! So let’s say February!

  2. Wonderful work on Toccata.
I love the photo of all your Ornaments together. You have made some beautiful pieces over the years. Nice to have ones made by your Mum and Grandma too,

    1. Thank you! The threads are coming from a shop with another order which is back ordered so I will have to wait patiently! Hopefully next month!

Hi Mary! It is so good to be back in blogland again. I have missed all of my blogging friends. Your newest stitch is beautiful. And WOW look at all of those ornaments…each and every one is wonderful. Have a great week. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever

  4. Wow you are really moving along on that piece and it looks great. I love all of your ornaments! Do you stitch them for your children or just for the household?

    1. Thank you! Yes, lots of them are for the kids-there are 5 so that accounts for quite a few! And then probably half are just mine that my Grandma and Mom made for me, or I made because I like them!
