I had a sorting/putting away weekend. Of course that means I spent lots of playing in my stash. Big girl play, right? I pulled out a bunch of things that caught my eyes and kitted a few projects. Then I started a little one right away. This is The Golden Grape from The Nostalgic Needle. I could not believe I had not one of the colors I needed so I made do with what I had since it’s just a little thing and really just a couple shades of purple and green. Even though I didn’t have any of the called for silks, I DO have the right size gold thread for eponymous golden grape-I can use the leftover gold passing from Foxy! Perfect. As you can see, the grapes and leaves are filled with satin stitch and the vine is chain stitch. It is small- about 3” high. And so so pretty. I will put the verse about the vine and branch from John 15 on the back and make a little hanging ornament of it.

Yes! I love to use my stash. Almost as much as I love acquiring more stash! 🙂
Ooo, that’s a pretty little Small. I do like the colours. It’s so nice to be able to wander through our stash and find these things. Like having your own personal LNS.
I do feel like I have a veritable store, it’s true. For our anniversary this year, Husband got me a large armoire for my cross stitch stuff. Whenever I open it up I feel like I AM in my own store. It’s fabulous. Makes me so happy!
That’s a pretty little design. I like your idea of putting the verse about the vine and branch from John 15 on the back.
