Progress report
I have a little report this week on my two December stitches. Here is Deerfield. I’m still loving this one.
And here is Cozy Into Winter.
I am not enthusiastic about the satin stitch stars. I will have to do a little at a time with them because they are not very fun. I hate satin stitch over 1 and all those little star points are that. The stitches just always seem to sink into the linen. Overall it gives a good effect, but I was eager to get back to cross stitch after just 7 over those stars!
I’ve just been switching between these 2, trying to get them both done this month! They can be finished in January and still enjoyed for the remainder of “winter” (winter here in AZ is pleasant and sunny but I’m from more northern areas so I still keep a winter mentality when we’re in winter months!)
I just remembered I had a little present I wanted to make up. I will have to work that into my rotation this weekend! It will be small and should only take a day or 2.
Beautiful work on your samplers. Those stars do look very fiddly! I am getting rather fond of poinsettias in designs, I’ve been looking at a lot of ornaments with them in.
Can’t say I’ve ever done satin stitched stars, Mary! I know what you mean about the stitches disappearing–it is so frustrating, isn’t it! Your pieces are both looking lovely. Hope you have a fun weekend ahead!
Lovely stitching, Mary. You are disciplined in making time to progress your different projects.
