Merry Christmas…To Trim or Not To Trim

I was not able to get an FFO post this month because we’ve been so, so busy! My sister in law was visiting and I’ve been baking and making and cleaning and decorating. Maybe I should share some pictures so you can see how I’ve been using my stitching time, because truly it has been on the back burner these weeks. But I did get this little project made up while my sewing machine was out, Threadwork Primitives’ Christmas Fruit Basket.

My daughter suggested the square pillow style and I think it was a good choice, but I sincerely wish I had put some rick rack on the seams between the check fabric and the linen. Oh well, it is too late for that. I bought some trim for the edge, gold and green. Should I put it on? Or does it look best plain? Maybe I need to make this one again. I’d like this same pillow in a small size-this one is 9″ square. Maybe a need a plain and a fancy one.

I have a back log of about 3 posts that need finishing and photos added. I guess I will put them all on at once after Christmas. Then you all can read a little history of my month of December.

And if anyone has a Small to share on New Year’s Eve, the link up will be there! I’m hoping for a calmer week next week! The Smalls SAL will continue as it has in 2022! I do enjoy hosting it for you!

  1. Oh my goodness, I’m a whole week early! I’d better get that post back into draft and save it for next Friday.
I’d add some trim to the pillow, it’s very sweet and big enough to support a trim!
