Everything New

Nashville Market is an inspiring time of year at a needlework shop. Seeing so many new things just makes you want to buy it all and stitch it all and all at once! Not having some much stitching lately and having my stuff packed up makes me especially vulnerable to this sort of market fever! So…I have a couple new starts and will aim to have at least one done this month.

First up is the little pin pillow in the new Blackbird book, Moments of Glad Grace. Jean from The Attic got the special toweling needed to make this and rewarded all of us worker bees for our Market prep efforts with the booklet and a cut of the fabric. It is an uneven weave and is stitched over one. It’s going along pretty quickly and will be a cute little finish. I bet I do get it done this month.

I also just HAD to have The Botanical Bee from Hands on Design. I was really taken by this bright and cheery design, and I like the round format, and I also love the bee pin on the top. But the main reason I picked it up to stitch right away was I bought a little piece of Lakeside linen in Bluegrass which I wanted to stitch on pronto! It’s less bright than the called for but I love the color. It’s fabulous. I’m using the called for flosses.

Sorry for the weird shadows! How do you like my fluffy new carpet?!

What were my other must haves? Well, the JBW French Alphabet and Ode to Red kits, Jeannette Douglas’ bouquets and Garden Box, and Teresa Kogut’s everything, especially “Sacred.” In my opinion, these 3 designers hit their market offerings out of the park this year with the best in beauty and number of offerings. I also just had to pick up my favorite new release from La D Da. But when will I stitch them? Does anyone know where I can buy some time?! 🙂 What did you love from this year’s market? Have you started anything yet?
