The Last Smalls SAL Check In! December 2023
Hello Friends, Here is your last check in hosted by me for the Smalls SAL! And I’d like to make an announcement! Rachel, the Ten Hour Stitcher, has graciously offered to take over hosting this SAL starting in 2024! Probably many of your know her from the FFO SAL, so we already know she’s such a great stitcher of smalls, and wonderful SAL hostess. Thank you so much Rachel for making sure the Smalls SAL will continue!
Now, if I had time, I would give you some statistics on how many posts have been generated over the last 5 or so years of this SAL, how many smalls we’ve collectively finished up, and so on. And maybe I can do that at some point! But for now, I am just offering one last link up for you all, to close out 2023.
I have been working on a little ornament from Homespun Elegance, it is the 2023 ornament and I though it was pretty sweet when it showed up in the shop last month. It’s not quite finished but maybe I’ll get it squeaked in over the next few days for a last finish for me in 2023. When I have a chance, I’ll get a picture on here but today is moving day and I have 10 packers in my house who need to be supervised.
The robin featured on this ornament is not the species of robin we have in the USA. Our American Robins are not winter birds so having a robin on a Christmas ornament is a little unseasonal. It’s much more common in Northern states to see Cardinals, Chickadees, and Finches in the winter! And here in Arizona, we have literal snowbirds as all the northern birds that migrate to spend the winter in warmer climes. Still, I love these little European robins that often show up in cross stitch designs and I thought it was a cute ornament.
Here is your link up, Happy New Year!
Thank you so much for all the work you’ve put in running the Smalls SAL since you took over. I am glad that you have someone to hand the baton too as well.
I’m having problems linking up – it keeps saying I need a backlink to your blog post on my blog post. Which I have done. But no joy. So here’s the link anyway!

It should be fixed now!
Thank you Mary for hosting the smalls SAL which has been super in helping me keep in track with my ornaments for my church tree. Wishing you a happy 2024 with plenty of busy needles.
Thank you so much!
I’m the same as Jo with trouble linking so here’s my blog
