Band 2 Finished. A Possible Plan
I am very happy with the colors. Here is band 2.
It was a very straightforward stitch. Now to start band 3. That will have more challenges!
I have continued to think about focusing on Dorcas this year. If I wanted to finish on December 25, I think I’d have to divide it up something like this…
The plan would be to get Band 3 laid in and the filling started by the end of April (one week!)
May would see the completion of Band 3 and Band 4 well started.
I’d finish Band 4 in June as well as do the fairly straightforward Bands 5 and 6
I’d allow 2 months, July and August, for Band 7 as it is large and complicated.
September would seem easy by comparison with 3 easier bands, I would also need to at least start October because…
October would be a challenge…it’s a large band but maybe it would get pushed into November too.
I’d finish the easy bands in November and hope I can honestly put a Christmas Day date on it.
After watching a recent interview between Nicola Parkman and Becky Scott of Witney Antiques…and seeing another stitcher’s Dorcas personalized, I think I will sign it with my own name instead of Dorcas’. My fellow stitcher’s project looks so charming actually with her own name, and I am not a purist about these things. Can you think of any reason for me not to do this personalization? Do you think my plan is reasonable?
Am I willing to possibly sacrifice all other stitching? There’s plenty of variety here…but I might miss my smalls!
