I finished up the Sugar Plum Fairy from Satsuma Street. The designer sent me a whole new bead packet and guess what? It\u2019s a good thing I asked her about this because the packet that came in my kit was the wrong one altogether! I fixed up all the sequins and think it looks great. I finally found a good glue for backing perforated paper with scrapbook paper and while it seems obvious I had not thought of it before. Rubber cement did the trick!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also framed up an unseasonable piece, this JBW snowman \u201cA Merry Winter.\u201d When I pulled it out to show in January I realized it would fit in a 5×7 frame pretty well and when I found this nice blue one it became an easy finish to do. But now it is getting stored alway until the end of the year! It is too sunny and warm here to have snowman decor!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I promised you hearts as well. I have 3! One is old, one is very old, and one is my Samplers Not Forgotten Floral Heart I shared in February. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For old, here is something I stitched in 2020. I needed a good way to finish it off and was having trouble deciding what would balance its less than perfect symmetry. I decided on a ruched trim with a bow on the side. It would be a biggish ornament so I’m not putting on a hanger and I’m calling it a pinkeep. I feel lucky to have found a ribbon color that coordinates with the colors (Rusty Gate from Lady Dot Creates)! The design is Gemstone Heart from Hermanson Hardanger, published in Just Cross Stitch Ornaments 2001.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next I needed to put the finishing touches on this Atalie project called Mon Petit Jardin (My Little Garden) which I stitched around the time I started blogging-maybe it\u2019s been waiting for a FFO for 5-6 years??? I always had envisioned it in a shadow box. Well, I decided to make an ornament. I\u2019m sending it off to my sister for her birthday! It makes a pretty gift, right? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wish the backing fabric showed up better in this photo! It is a polka dotty batik and matches the project perfectly. I gathered it around a mat board heart. I pressed the gathers down to make a subtle ruffle. The ribbon hanger covers up where the dip in the heart should be so you can\u2019t see it goes almost straight across. it\u2019s a successful FFO! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And finally, Floral Heart by Samplers Not Forgotten. Isn\u2019t this one just lovely? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
