I\u2019m so mad. I usually only have visit from \u201ctadpoles\u201d but this weekend was visited by a big bad ugly FROG. Maybe even it was a toad.<\/p>\n\n\n

This is how much I had done minus the actual grapes and the flowers on the G<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

I started GHI of the Sampler of Stitches. I did the first 3 motifs\u2026I started the frame and the letter G. Lots of red thread ok? I thought I\u2019d take a break on the G and do the next specialty stitch and discovered my very first stitch set (top left there) was short by 1 repetition. Everything was off by 8 stitches. There was NO fudging this. <\/p>\n\n\n

To make things more demoralizing, Friday was the first substantial stitching day I\u2019ve had in weeks. And it almost all had to come out. Ok well it was only a day\u2019s work but still. I was so mad. I took it out right away (it took almost as long to take out as put in as I was trying to save my precious red silk thread!). Making it worse I found the red thread had left fibers all though the linen so the shadow of the G showed. I needed to use tape to fix it and it\u2019s not perfect. I was still so mad I didn\u2019t stitch at all Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n

(What I first though was) The culprit! However I\u2019m looking on the bright side. Redoing this stitch is not all bad because really it will look best if the base satin stitch is bright red and the grid on top is very dark. Now I know to picky stitch with the cherry red floss to get better contrast. Ultimately it will look better. <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

Today I happily went back ready to restitch it. I put back in 2 motifs\u2026and it still didn\u2019t fit. What the heck?! Then I discovered I started one stitch too close to the previous section because the motif I was counting off of just happened to be one stitch shorter than the main section. How exasperating! <\/p>\n\n\n

The real culprit and my tabula rasa. Hopefully I\u2019ll get in some stitching tonight and tomorrow.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

So the remaining red motif, which I was thinking was good, also had to come out. Here\u2019s where I\u2019m at. Only the 2 horizontal borders of G can be saved. What a colossal waste of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
