OH MY GOODNESS! So much to stitch these days! Plus all the busy-ness of the holidays! Here’s what’s in my lap and under my needle and being toted around to waiting rooms and school events in the rush before Christmas….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have gotten some stitching in on my vintage Jiffy crewel kit. Santa comes along bit by bit. No plans to finish him this year, probably next year. He is a fun break to work on, and I can stitch on him in a dimmer setting so a lot of this was done on a recent family Christmas movie night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I finished the next Kiriki Press ornament in the set: the Orange Slice. Friends, THIS ornament is why I bought the whole set. I thought the design was perfect. The colors, the use of the feather stitch for the little juicy bits…and it wasn’t hard to stitch. It came out great. Here\u2019s the series so far\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next in the series is a present but\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026. I am interrupted by another felt ornament! For our gift this year, Jean had a fabulous party for us and we ate a great deal of delicious Thai food, and had a crafting night, getting a start on the beautiful Crystal Dove kit by Katie Strachan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh my, is it ever the pinnacle of felt ornaments! It is SO sparkly! I am sure those are real crystals on it. I got my tail finished. I was absolutely thrilled to receive this as my gift from Jean because these kits had sold out before I could get one and now I do get to make it after all! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So for my 2024 felt ornament-a-thon, I will have 12 lovely adorable Kiriki Press ornaments and to top it off, a 13th elegant and glitter-y one. Pleased as punch over here in felt ornament land!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next up in the lineup, I wanted to make a gift for Jean. Earlier this year, Fern Ridge released a very patriotic fob and I knew Jean would love it but never make it for herself. So I made it for her. Isn’t it grand?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are really fun to do and don’t actually take more than a couple-3 hours. Again I am looking forward to my next one, which will be for me. Rooster? Hedgehog? Strawberries garden? I have several and can’t decide. Leaning to Rooster. He\u2019s charming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do I need new starts? Why yes I do if they are Christmas starts! I love this new release from Shakespeare’s Peddler…Noel. SO simple and sweet. Here’s my start:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I have long been tempted to get Joy to Ewe from Chessie and Me. I love French knots. And this one is such a simple quick design. I just have to cover the sheep with the French knots to finish it up. Then it can join my Christmas bowl for next year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
