I finished Sacred! Hooray!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was my own silk conversion. I tried to use silks from my stash for the most part, but I think I did buy one to fill in a color that wasn’t close to anything I had. As I stitched it I found some odd charting and so I did “fix” the golden embellishments on the corner hearts and the oval border (I don’t like when elements run together….I like a stitch of separation). And I put the colors in in my own way on those triangles on the outer border. I wish I was more thoughtful when I started that outer border (which was fun to stitch) and I would have done it in a saw tooth satin stitch. And organized the colors a bit better. I think this is a perfect example of a skill we as stitchers don’t reflect upon very much and that is reading a chart before we start stitching to find oddball things we might want to do differently. I’m rarely patient enough at the beginning of the project to do that, I just launch in. But I may be more careful to review the chart in the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So…what’s next? I SO want to finish up the Checkerboard Stag, and the Sparrow pinwheel this spring. But I also SO want to work on Mary Ellen Turner. Those are the 3 on my radar.
