Framing and Reframing

This year I brought several older projects over to Sandy, the framer extraordinaire, at The Attic and have her fix them up for me. The last one is done and here they are. I am very pleased with how they all came out!

First was The Pink Sparrow by Brenda Gervais. I had framed this myself during Covid and the frame selection was so poor then…I have longed for a better frame. Here it is:

Next is Jane Marshall by Hands Across the Sea. I love dark distressed wood! Can you tell?

And then Quaker Garden from Blackbird Designs. Ooohhh. the frame we picked was so perfect. It lived on my eggshell blue bedroom wall and I love seeing it every day.

And finally, Sampler Roll by Samplers Remembered. This one was supposed to be finished as a roll but I didn’t have enough fabric on the sides for that. I love how it came out framed. I have thought maybe I’d stitch it again in order to do the roll finish but it’s not a priority.

So, that’s some more of my stitching life these days. It’s so nice to enjoy the stitching once it’s complete by having it framed and on the wall!

Hi Mary, I had to drop by and say how much I love the Sampler Roll! I saw your finish on Flosstube and came across your blog when searching for the pattern. (I’ll call the Attic sometime soon to see if you have it.) The Sampler Roll with its cluster of red-roof, white houses reminds me of one of my favorite places – Cavallo Point in Sausalito, CA. I wonder if it might have been designed with Cavallo Point in mind? It’s a former military base turned luxury hotel that sits at the foot of the Golden Gate bridge.

Hi Liz, thank you for your comments! The row of houses is actually taken off of an antique sampler. I don’t know what the origin of the sampler is but it sure is a charming motif!
