June 2021 Smalls Check In

Here we are at the end of June, halfway through the year! Here in Arizona, you’ve maybe read in the news that it’s been incredibly HOT! Yes, I think over the last week we had 5 days in a row where it was over 117, and my car info even said 122 on 2 days! Whew, it is hot in Arizona but this was really remarkable. We don’t usually see such high temperatures in June-that is more common in July or August. Then, Tuesday-Wednesday we had the blessed relief of our first “monsoon”-but it was a baby monsoon with only a tiny bit of rain at my house. Still that was enough to drop the temps 30 degrees over night and we could actually be outside without shriveling up instantly!

But enough talk about the weather! I did get a small finished to show you! Here is the Just Bee fob from Fern Ridge Collection. It was very quick to stitch up and will be a simple quick FFO for next month.

Now it’s your turn, what smalls have you managed to get done this month? I can’t wait to see your work!

What a cute bee, Mary! Can’t even imagine those temperatures, but, of course, I’m sure you can’t imagine our sub-zero temperatures either 🙂 Enjoy your weekend!

What a gorgeous little bee, I love the way the beads make his body.
Those temperatures are incredible, even in Fahrenheit LOL. Is it a dry heat or a damp heat? Which is easier to cope with?

Thank you! It is a dry-ish heat. The humidity is about 15%. When we get a monsoon, which normally happens in July-September, the humidity does go up quite a bit (to 30%!) with the additional moisture in the air, but it is still nothing like Florida. You would not call it muggy here. Here it feels like an oven blast when you step outside. If you sweat, you dry pretty quickly. When you swim, your towel and swimsuit and so on will dry outside in a short time. We do not need to worry about mildew! And my roses are not subject to a lot of the pests, disease, and fungus that wetter climates have! So there are lots of bonuses!

It’s been hot here too, but not as hot as you’ve had it! Although the humidity can be nasty.
Your bee is so adorable with the beads added to it!
