My Gifted Gorgeousness post for this month will be a surprise for you all as the recipient is a reader (Hi, Karen!) so I have been making it in secret! She has received it now so I can make my reveal!
Oh this was so pretty to make! It is a free pattern from The Little Stitcher which you can find here: Little Lady Prim Sewing Set. I picked my own flosses.
The backing fabric is very special to me. It is from my mother-in-law’s craft supplies. My dear MIL died suddenly in 2005. She and Karen had been lifelong friends so that is how I met Karen back when my husband and I got married. Karen taught both my husband and his sister how to stitch when they were kids (my sister-in-law still stitches but not my husband!) and made numerous pictures and things that are still around their family house where they grew up. And she also has made lovely baby gifts for each of my children! I am very happy to finally make something for her!

These are gifted gorgeousness items indeed, and finished so beautifully. I especially like the long stitch on the spools of cotton; very realistic. 🙂
This is a special present and I am sure it will be treasured. x
What a sweet gift full of beautiful sentiments. You did a great job on it Mary!
What a beautiful set, and how lovely that the fabric has such a special meaning. A very thoughtful gift that is sure to be treasured 🙂
What a precious gift! I plan to stitch this pattern one day too!
A beautiful gift set.

What a beautiful, thoughtful gift, I’m sure it will be treasured.
That’s a beautiful gift, thank you for sharing the link. I was looking for a chart for a birthday later this year and this is perfect.
What a lovely set you created for Karen! Thank you for sharing the link.
Thanks for taking part in GG this month with such a special project. How lovely that Karen is still part of your life and a lovely reminder of the friendship she had with your Mum.
I am sure my Mum had a dress made of that fabric, or a very similar one in the 1970s. She made my doll a dress which is how I remember it so well!
What a beautiful gift you made. I love the Little stitcher’s work. AriadnefromGreece!
Thank you so much for sharing. I am in love with this pattern, I will be stitching it soon!!!
