WIP shortlist

I have lots of WIPS. Too many! I have 2 ideas about them for the rest of my 2025 stitching. My first idea is what can I finish?! Wouldn’t it be great to get in another good finish this year? Which WIPS qualify for that?? My other idea is what do I really want to stitch on? Even if it […]

Dorcas Check In

Friends, I can just about taste that finish of Dorcas. This is the penultimate check in…I am sure the next time I photograph Dorcas she will be finished. I finished the Satin Stitch Band above, and below shows my improvement of the color in “Like”…the left hand picture shows the final and the right hand picture shows the anemic pink […]

This weekend’s work…after the weekend

Checking the “to do’s” off on Dorcas this weekend… I also reorganized and tidied up my threads and my 2 (!) project bags I use for Dorcas and selected the colors for the upcoming work. I still need to pick the colors for the bullion knot flower centers. That won’t be hard. I just didn’t do it yet. During the […]

This week’s work…before the weekend…

Hello…and here we are 12 days into September…I have finished Dorcas’ inscription, I have charted and stitched my name inscription band, and I have started the satin stitched vine. Since my name inscription is on there now, we can see how big the project is…my name band is the end of the project. You can see I have plenty of […]

Dorcas Haynes Inscription and Berries Band

I really made sure to get some stitching time this weekend and made huge progress on the Berries Band and the Dorcas Haynes Inscription. I just have to put the embellishments between the words on the inscription band and stitch the other half of the berries.m I also took out the “like” in the verse because I really didn’t like […]

Mary Ellen Turner

I wanted to get back to some cross stitch comfort stitching so I picked up Mary Ellen Turner these past few nights. I needed some stitching that didn’t take too much thinking, I’ve made excellent progress on it. I really am enjoying the Belle Soie silks, both the colors and the feel of the silk. It’s coming out really pretty. […]

Completely Unauthorized Starting

I don’t know what gets into me sometimes…well, probably the same thing that gets into any of us stitchers. I justified it by saying that I needed something with straight lines to stitch at the pool but the reality is, I’ve had the Red and Green Carnation Sampler by Samplers Remembered kitted for ages and rediscovering it on a cleaning […]

More smalls!

Flag Day! I stitched a bit on this little thing called Strawberries and Stripes by Brenda Gervais: I’ll finish it soon. I’ll tell you its story with my finish. I also worked on this little Bristol inspired pin cushion by Haystack Stitching. It is part of the Jean Etui chart. It will be a little model for The Attic for […]

Larger Project Progress

I think I owe you an update on Sacred, which was supposed to be my Lenten stitch but (kept getting interrupted) and my Dorcas Haynes project, which has seen a few stitches put in since I last showed you. I don’t even want to bother with before and after pictures, or “best laid plans” that went to ruin or anything. […]

Featherbeds

After finishing off those pillows the other weekend I remembered another small from Nashville that I had wanted to do… The Featherbeds strawberry from Erica Michaels! Here’s my start: It’s on Paperbark from Fox and Rabbit with the called for threads. I really love the coverlet inspired pattern.
