Sampler September 2026

The September Sampler Soirée hashtag is back on Instagram again this year. I haven’t posted on IG in almost a year. It feels like it might be time to do that again and the September Sampler Soirée is as good a reason as any to start again. I had mentioned I had a plan to work on Anna Millet this […]

Verse…check

I managed to finished Mary Ellen’s verse this week: I really love this sampler. The verse is very touching I think. My goal for Sampler September is to finish the is one. Do-able! Hey, I finished Dorcas Haynes last September which was much more difficult work! Towards that end, I got the 2nd butterfly put in this morning, and started […]

Mary Ellen

It is easy to love Mary Ellen Turner. The silks, the soft colors, and my beautiful Lakeside linen make it a joy to stitch. I stitched on her all weekend. I selected to do one of the more “count-y” bits since I had good time to sit in daylight and read the pattern. How do you like the butterfly? To […]

Little Xs

I picked up Anna Millet from Reflets de Soie last week. I felt that a monochrome project and one with a lot of letters in it would be an inspiring thing to try to get the stitching mojo back. I think that is working out. I have made some progress since last time I touched this Before: Now: The progress […]

Edit…

Well, as I’ve been stitching Cheerful Bouquet I’ve been wondering what about it is *not quite right.* I compared my stitching to the cover photo, the reason I bought it…and the darker pink that was supplied in the kit is NOT that lovely contrasting light red in the photo. So oh dear, I am going to fix it. I will […]

Cheerful Bouquet

I had the best intentions to work on Checkerboard Stag this week, especially since I knew I’d have some “wait around” stitching time…but I can’t for the life of me find the project bag for that one! I was tidying up my stitching area and I’m sure I put it in a “WIPs to work on basket” but it is […]

Sacred

Well I’ve gotten a little carried away with Sacred, to the detriment of the Checkerboard Stag! That did not get completed in February (though it might have had I not picked up Sacred) but I made good progress on Sacred. It’s good to have the stitching bug back! One thing or another will get finished soon! That’s good right? I […]

Smalls. Starts.

No sooner do I get an idea in my head than I am distracted from the task at hand. I wrote last week’s post and then said to myself that I really should go looking for more smalls to work on this month. Looking for trouble more like! I found quite a few started smalls that I will aim to […]

Hope

Hope is almost done! That sounds depressing but it isn’t because it means the first finish of 2026 is in sight! Like all Drawn Thread patterns, this one has a small amount of specialty stitches in it, and that’s always fun for me. I might get it finished up tonight or tomorrow.

A New Start for January

I decided on Emily’s Hope by The Drawn Thread as my first project for 2026. Here is my work for this first week of the year, displayed on Sophie who isn’t normally a lap cat but was today. I “hope” I’ll have it done by later this week…I have a little (ha ha who are we kidding…a medium to large) […]
