End of Year Plans!

Oh my goodness, what I really need is a brain dump and 30 hours a day. I have so much to get done before the holidays, before my college son comes home, before the end of the year. And some of that is stitching goals!

I still for sure want to finish the Cheerful Bouquet. That is a definite goal for the end of the year.

I totally got sidetracked from it for my Halloween stitching. I decided to roll with the itch to stitch Halloween because I rarely have had an interest in Halloween stitching. I was so excited though that I kitted up one of the charts I showed before…and also sorted out my conversion to overdyes of a JBW project I made a tiny start on last year (I had neglected to write what oranges were what and gave up in total confusion-now I think I’m ready to proceed with it):

I’d love to get one of these started and get a jump on next year but I also want to finish the last Halloween project I am trying to cram in this month! But back to these little things…even if I just get the big cat outlined it will be so easy to sit and fill it in as an on-the-go project…thinking about it…see why I need 30 hours in a day?

In the process of getting excited over Halloween, I also got excited over fall in general. I found lots of “wanna starts” and they are now in my pile to kit:

Well we’ll see what jumps out at me in the coming days. I have linen and threads all over the place at the moment just waiting to be assigned to projects.

But here is the one I actually did kit up and it’s ready to go:

Honestly this is probably the one I’ll start simply because it’s ready though I do love that JDD bouquet and I need to stitch the Plum Street cat because I already bought stuff to finish it.

All year I have wanted to get going on this gorgeous sampler called Abundant Table from Erica Michaels:

I have been kitting it bit by bit and I’m still missing 1 elusive thread that might just need to be replaced, and I finally decided on a good linen for it. This is a “must start” in November though I don’t expect to get very far.

Then…what season is coming? Why Christmas of course. With the several good finishes I’ve had this year, I don’t feel too guilty starting a couple other medium pieces for framing. One is Joy from Shakespeare’s Peddler. I did the conversion for this at the Attic and I am eager to see how it looks:

I love Theresa’s Nashville release this year called Peace that goes with this one. I’ve held off buying it until I show myself I’ve committed to stitching Joy. But honestly they will be so lovely together.

The other project is Christmas Thoughts from The Drawn Thread. I’ve finally gathered the threads for that one so it’s ready to go as well. I always love stitching a Drawn Thread chart. They are very enjoyable stitches. If I do 2 motifs a day in December, I’ll get it done pretty quick.

I have a couple ornaments in the queue as well…including the ribbon embroidery Poinsettia Heart by Lorna Bateman that I started earlier this year:

What about Anna Millet? I am moving her to next year unless I catch a bug for her. Ditto for anything else bigger that I said I was going to do. I am going to focus on smalls. Now, watch me get totally distracted.

I’m sure I can’t do all of these but I can do a little of each and that will make some happy stitching time through the end of this year. Hopefully I’ll get to some finishing too, I have a little pile and there are indeed some Christmas things in there!
