Fully Finished April

I am linking up with Rachel at Ten Hour Stitcher to participate in the Fully Finished Object SAL again this month. Thanks for hosting, Rachel!

I did not get as much finished this month as I had hoped, but I did get one thing done that was time consuming and that I am especially proud of:

This is Lorna Bateman’s Floral Beauty Pin Cushion, which was a complete kit my mother gave me for Christmas a couple years ago.

I finished the embroidery up earlier this year and put it on the pincushion base, but my FFO was the picot beaded edge which took a couple hours this week. It was only a bit tricky.

Friends, this was an absolutely gorgeous kit to work with. I am rather new to ribbon embroidery and it had good instructions, and I appreciated that all the needles were included and labels and each stitch gave directions on which needle and which ribbon to use. It was very good for a beginner! If you want to get a kit yourself, Lorna has an etsy shop. She is also releasing her first book soon-I can’t wait to get it because now I feel more confident to assemble the materials myself and try another of her beautiful designs!

My other finish is, you guessed it, Just Nan’s Hedgie Hedgehog! Here he is with his pins and leaf!

I stationed him in my shadow box after all, next to Mr. Nutley Owl. I thought they looked well together. I also needed him up high where the little hands in my household won’t be able to steal the pins!

So that’s it for me! About 1/2 of what I planned, but I’m happy with it nonetheless!
