Candy Cane Twist! A Peacock-Colored Initial!
I finished Little House Needleworks’ Candy Cane Twist! This was a small quick project but so good to get it done because it has been in my “Do This Year” binder for 2 years! I am off to Jo Ann’s this week to see if their selection of Christmas fabrics is in yet. I would like to FFO it right away, as well as the several more LHNs I have in my finished drawer.
Just for fun, I got another piece out of my “Do This Year” binder-this one was added for this year so it’s not quite so shameful!: Initiales au Paon (Initial with Peacock) by Gigi R. I saw this stitched teeny tiny at my LNS and the finish was remarkable. That stitcher used Gloriana’s Bluegrass on hers and it was gorgeous, but I decided to use one with more purple in it, a limited edition from Thread Gathered called Flannel Flower. I’m stitching on a 40 ct. antique white by Zweigart which is not as tiny as the model I saw but it’s about what I can do right now. Here’s the start of my M:
I will say one motivator to doing this project is that the People’s Choice this month is “monochrome” and so far in my stitching life I have not done much monochrome. So, at the end of the month I’ll link up with Joann at Serendipitous Stitching to show my progress on it.
Have a great week everyone!
And don’t forget to check out the Instagram #commonthreadedstitcher challenge if you have not already. I was a little dubious about posting daily but it’s been a lot of fun so far!
Fantastic finish and great new WIP. Love the thread colors.
Both of your stitches are wonderful but I’m in love with the candy cane stitch. I have almost all of the LHN ornaments stitched and now I will have to do this one. Have a great week. RJ@stitching friends
The peppermint looks so cute! Pretty floss color you picked.
That’s an adorable Candy Cane Twist! I’d be surprised if the Christmas fabric wasn’t in yet, I’ve seen it in Hobby Lobby.
That will be a lovely monochrome piece, purple looks good.
They did have some good fabric! I will be finishing those things up for September and then you can see what I found!
The candy cane button is the perfect addition to that design, so cute.
I love the Peacock too. I need to stitch more peacocks!
It is! My kids keep trying to eat it because it looks so real! Ha! I’m surprised with all your Just Nan’s you don’t have man peacocks! Do you have the chart for her Peacock Octagon or have you already made it? It’s super pretty and you would love it!
