ARGH!!!!
I’m so mad. I usually only have visit from “tadpoles” but this weekend was visited by a big bad ugly FROG. Maybe even it was a toad.

I started GHI of the Sampler of Stitches. I did the first 3 motifs…I started the frame and the letter G. Lots of red thread ok? I thought I’d take a break on the G and do the next specialty stitch and discovered my very first stitch set (top left there) was short by 1 repetition. Everything was off by 8 stitches. There was NO fudging this.

To make things more demoralizing, Friday was the first substantial stitching day I’ve had in weeks. And it almost all had to come out. Ok well it was only a day’s work but still. I was so mad. I took it out right away (it took almost as long to take out as put in as I was trying to save my precious red silk thread!). Making it worse I found the red thread had left fibers all though the linen so the shadow of the G showed. I needed to use tape to fix it and it’s not perfect. I was still so mad I didn’t stitch at all Saturday.

Today I happily went back ready to restitch it. I put back in 2 motifs…and it still didn’t fit. What the heck?! Then I discovered I started one stitch too close to the previous section because the motif I was counting off of just happened to be one stitch shorter than the main section. How exasperating!

So the remaining red motif, which I was thinking was good, also had to come out. Here’s where I’m at. Only the 2 horizontal borders of G can be saved. What a colossal waste of time.
I’m still determined to get this G and H done this month. I’ll be super careful you can be sure.
🙁 Oh Mary. What a big, fat bummer. I hate, hate, hate frogging red thread. And silk too! I am sorry this mess happened to you my friend. I am glad it is behind you. Better days ahead. Big hugs!
Oh no, that is a pretty disasterous attack of the frog! But at least it’s all gone now and you can move on.
Oh no Mary how annoying. Great work on frogging, not the nicest thing to do. We have a frog/toad in our garden, I’ll make sure he stays amongst our pots!
