March WIP(s?)
While it was important for me to finish up my February WIPGO assignment, Mary Amelia’s Bird, it put me a bit behind on my assignment for March going through to April, and that is Sacred Heart from Teresa Kogut. I thought it would be good stitching for Lent so with my finishes last week, I have been working on Sacred this week. I had last worked on it during the Autumn of Abundance retreat at the Attic last November leaving off about here:

And here it is today after some good stitching time this week. It is interesting to be working from the outside towards the center (I hope that doesn’t rear up and bite me!) but I enjoy stitching the words, and wanted to make sure the border matched up. There are SEVERAL borders you see and I really would like them to be in correctly.

I am stitching with my own Gloriana silk conversion on 40 count Lakeside Light Exemplar, giving special materials to a special stitch. I will continue to work on this as my main work until Easter. I would really like to get the center started. There is A LOT of filling in so once the structure is there, it should move along pretty quickly if I can give it some time.

I was itching to start a project or two from Nashville as well. But choosing is always the challenge! My favorites are Joy from Shakespeare’s Peddler, Be My Valentine from Samplers Not Forgotten, Rusted Flowers from GPA, and Sweet Birds Sing from Blackbird Designs, the last one being much coveted since I saw a sneak peak of it as a retreat piece last year or a bit longer ago.
Well, Be My Valentine was the winner this weekend. Mainly because it was a full kit and so all ready to go! Here’s my start:

Not too bad! Maybe I’ll even get it done this month.
Did you have a favorite from Market this year? There were so many great designs to choose from!
