WIP shortlist

I have lots of WIPS. Too many! I have 2 ideas about them for the rest of my 2025 stitching. My first idea is what can I finish?! Wouldn’t it be great to get in another good finish this year? Which WIPS qualify for that??

My other idea is what do I really want to stitch on? Even if it doesn’t get done, which projects would be the most fun?

Here are the contenders….

Mary Ellen Turner

I just love stitching on this. It won’t get done this year probably but it’s a really enjoyable stitch…plus my coworker at the Attic just about has hers finished and I want mine done too!

Another Fox and Rabbit contender is the small pinwheel from Fanny Collins. It is stitched with 100.3 which is not my favorite but I’ve got a good start on it. Would be easy to finish up this year if I applied myself!

Checkerboard Stag Sampler

This also could probably get finished up in a week or 2. No reason not to get it done!

Red and Green Carnation Sampler

I only started this one earlier this year, but I do really like it and it is not too big. Also, there is a lot of straightforward stitching with lines and borders and so on… Good for doing when I don’t want to be reading a chart carefully. I do have a plan to modify some of the little motifs hidden in the borders on the right and left… I would like to personalize it a little bit more and make the flowers make a little more sense. I have plans!

Cheerful Bouquet

I have a wall space ready for this piece so I’d really like to work on it, plus I just love the design! But… there’s a long way to go! This would be stitching for fun, not to finish this year, because I have the glorious silk kit that came with the chart so it’s a real pleasure to stitch on this one!

Lady’s Bargello Sewing Roll

Ummm….no excuses. I think I finished the main piece then put it away because I didn’t want to start the pattern over for the flap but honestly once the pattern is laid in it’s not that bad. I should try to get this one done and dusted.

Sacred

I got a little bogged down on Sacred earlier this year and then segued to Dorcas in order to finish that but this is also on my short list of WIPS. I’d like to progress it such that I could focus on a finish for Lent 2026. Maybe aim to get the outline of the heart in so it can just be filled??

And finally…a new start…just for fun…Joy from Shakespeare’s Peddler.

I loved this market release from this year and when we sold out of the copying thread pack just went ahead and made a silk pack for myself. I finally decided to stitch it on a Legacy linen and am ready to go. It will join Red and Green Carnation Sampler for my holiday stitching…in addition to the Kiriki Press felt ornaments series I want to finish up. Because I heard she’ll have a new series next year and I want to justify getting it!! Felt ornaments are so fun and relaxing perfect for those busy holidays!

Anyway I am so excited for these projects to carry me through the end of the year…let’s see what I can get done!!
