Backlog post #1: From One Bargello to Another
This post was written December 12 but I didn’t take pictures so I never posted it. Here it is with the pictures, which no longer correspond to the text accurately, but you get the idea!!)

This weekend (the weekend of December 11-12 that is) I did a bit of stitching the Bijoux on my Bargello roll, but also wanted to take a break from Bargello and work on another project. I picked up Star of Wonder by Just Nan, and guess what the next band was? Bargello. So that’s what I started with! I also had a chance to compare back to back the Bijoux to the Kreinik used in the Just Nan.

Friends, if you dislike Kreinik and you are able to substitute Bijoux for it, you should do that. I do not want to bad mouth a good brand like Kreinik, but I’m just saying the Bijoux is SO much easier to work with. At least is has been for me. Now, the Bijoux is a metal strand wrapped around a black thread, and the black thread shows, like it is candy striped. If you want something silvery or sparkling and bright, I’m not sure they have a color in the Bijoux line that will work. Unless there is a Bijoux thread with a white core. But otherwise, it is definitely worth a try!
Back to the topic at hand, I am loving this little band sampler. It is so pretty and small and I feel like I might be able to get it done this year too. Or at least up to the beading. It’s only 10 bands and I’ve finished 6. (I don’t have a picture of it at that stage and now in fact I’ve finished 8 hoping for a finish this week!)
These two pieces are so different, but both so gorgeous Mary!
How funny that both pieces wanted you to stitch Bargello! Star of Wonder is gorgeous and the Bijoux looks very pretty. I’ve never seen it before.
