Mid Month Report
I am on schedule for this month. I have duly stitched on my alphabet samplers. I haven’t done more on my Jeannette Douglas ABC Sampler (I had made the progress I had planned) but here is the Drawn Thread Sampler of Stitches with ABC and J all completed:

I will tell you that selecting my own colors keeps me on my toes! I am not sure about that purple zigzag (J for Jacquard Stitch). The model used green, but I wanted to use anything but green as there is already a good amount of green in this area. But should it be lavender and tan instead? Or is two tone purple good? If I use tan instead I will have to change the Japanese stitch (the tan satin stitches) to something else. I would like the dark red brown there I think. It would be a good place to show off that thread! Decisions decisions! But for now I don’t want to pull out 2 things that are just fine so leaving it as is what I will do for now.
I finished the stitching on Sugar Plum Fairy. There are not a lot of beads so she’s really close and maybe I’ll do another small this month too.

Finally, I’m now at work on Victoria Sampler’s Heirloom Anniversary project for the rest of the month but there’s nothing too exciting to see here as I only have just started working on the satin stitch/eyelets border. I am managing the Terbizond a little better (It is a fat, silk perle. Very twisty!) It is rather tedious but the payoff is the drawn thread work and then getting to do the ribbon embroidery in the center. That can’t come along soon enough!
Beautiful diverse stitching! The anniversary project looks so elegant!
Thank you! It is, Victoria Sampler is the queen of the elegant project!
Great stitching, your Heirloom Anniversary is beautiful.
Oh thank you!
I agree with your decision to leave the colours as they are for now on your Drawn Thread project. You might feel differently about them when the other letters surround them.
A lovely selection of stitching as always.
Thank you! Yes I will leave them. I am enjoying this piece and the unexpected way it is unfolding.
I think the Drawn Thread Sampler looks lovely. I like the two shades of purple together.
Thank you! I think I will leave them!
