Every Leaf
Good old cross stitching is so therapeutic. The weekend was a normal one, not too crazy, with a couple HS fall ball games to watch and home chores, but I got in a lot of stitching on Every Leaf Speaks Bliss and I feel really good about that. Mostly I have the border left and a sprinkling of small leaves. I’ll have to look carefully on the chart to make sure I don’t miss any. This stitch has quite a bit of confetti and while I don’t feel like that is especially blissful, I do like the final effect.
This will definitely be finished as a flat fold. If I don’t have any leaf fabric in my stash, I’m going to go out and get some and do up a proper flat fold with the fabric backboard for it and them embellish with the felt pieces to give the same feel as the drum. It will be easy to pack away with the fall decor and enjoy seasonally.
At the rate I’m stitching, I guess I will finish this up this month. That will be really nice. And I’m been formulating a plan of attack for Dorcas so I can get over the hump of the eyelet letters. I think I do one letter a session plus a length or 2 of thread on another part. I’ve got to put in some guidelines in order to make sure my band middles are lined up to keep me symmetrical. But I think if I map it out and work on different bands simultaneously, I’ll feel better about making progress.
Thanks to those of you who continue to read or comment on my blog! I mostly blog for myself, but it is always nice to hear your encouragement and thoughts on my projects!
