Assorted WIPS

Sadly, blogging has taken a back seat these days. So has stitching, even more sadly. There are little fits and bursts but not a lot to show for it, and certainly no focus. I really wanted to do the WIPGO, but that has also been a bit of a bust. Maybe…maybe I’ll just catch up here with some pictures of things I HAVE worked on so far this year to document the little progress that has been made…

In January, I assigned myself to work on Dorcas. I focused on the eyelet verse:

Here’s a before and after representing a lot of stitching during the Sampler Symposium and evenings as possible.

In February I assigned myself to work on Mary Amelia’s Bird. I showed it in my last post, and here it where I am now.

I did finish up my little rooster. Here it is:

I got a tiny frame for it.

I worked a bit on Souvenir de France by Blackbird Designs and was able to finish the border. I should probably just finish this up this month and turn it into a pillow.

I think I’m missing an intermediate photo because when I set to stitching this month the words were done and the border was started. I just have to fill in the star motifs at the top.

I also picked up Smol Birbs again, my 56 count project, for Jean’s sake. Sorry I didn’t take a picture of it. Maybe next time! If you know about The Attic, watch flosstube, care about samplers. or have any participation in the wider cross stitch community, you probably know that Jean passed away at the end of January. The Attic goes on, and we stitchers will think of her anytime we pick up that high count linen and hear her voice telling us that we can do it! I find for me the proper magnification and light is what makes 56 count possible. I have lots of readers but only one pair is really adequate for the high count linen. Slow progress is better than no progress.

Where are any of these going? I do not know. Hopefully towards finishes, and the closer to finished ones hopefully sooner rather than later.
