This week’s work…before the weekend…

Hello…and here we are 12 days into September…I have finished Dorcas’ inscription, I have charted and stitched my name inscription band, and I have started the satin stitched vine.

Since my name inscription is on there now, we can see how big the project is…my name band is the end of the project. You can see I have plenty of space and will not need to take out my original start!

Updating the “To Do’s” check list from the first post of Sampler September:

  • Berries on berry band HALF OF THEM ARE DONE
  • “Dorcas Haynes Her Work” Smyrna band NEED TO ADD EMBELLISHMENTS BETWEEN WORDS
  • Satin Stitch Floral Band…the last official band STARTED
  • My own inscription band at the bottom NEED TO ADD EMBELLISHMENTS BETWEEN WORDS
  • Acorn caps in detached buttonhole
  • Bullion knot floral centers.
  • change “LIKE” in the verse band to a better color. The light pink is driving me crazy because the color is the wrong tone compared to the other words. “LIKE” REMOVED, NEEDS RESTITCHING

I think to finish this month, I need to finish everything in bold by by the end of next weekend (Sept 22) so I can have about a week to do Acorns Caps and Bullion Knots. I’ve got my work cut out for me this week! The thing that slows me down the most is selecting the colors at this point. I am totally going rogue from my list at this point as several skeins have run out and I can’t get dye lots to match the vintage versus the new of the color numbers. I am just trying to select colors to harmonize in the design from stash and pulling from other design areas. This part of the project is a bigger hassle than I anticipated. Next big project I will keep in mind floss quantities.
