Happy Easter!

I love Easter. Aside from the significance of the day, I love doing up the big feast. This year it was lamb chops, Persian rice (Tahdig),

roasted carrots, asparagus, deviled eggs, orange jello ring, and a lamb cake for dessert. My daughter took over making the lamb cake this year.

Looking at this menu written down I see it is a little bit retro!

We also had hot cross buns and crumb cake for breakfast with our egg casserole.

A bonus for the weekend are the roses which are in bloom!

Windy City, Cinco de Mayo, Granada, Double Delight and Mary Rose (background)

I did find a Julia Child, but still haven’t found a Mr. Lincoln so that will have to wait for next year. But I did cultivate the couple leggy stragglers in my back yard and they might do something later. One is named Heritage, and one is a mystery. Rounding out that little group is a new one called Meredith which I couldn’t resist.

And stitching? Here’s the progress on Cheerful Bouquet. Almost finished with this center section!

This is surrounded by a sawtooth border, and then a floral border. The floral border is big but simple. I don’t think it will be too much trouble but maybe a little boring.

If I find that stag I’ll work on it too, otherwise I’m moving right into Mary Ellen Turner. I feel like I can finish her up by or in the summer. I am enjoying getting finishes!
