Edit…
Well, as I’ve been stitching Cheerful Bouquet I’ve been wondering what about it is *not quite right.* I compared my stitching to the cover photo, the reason I bought it…and the darker pink that was supplied in the kit is NOT that lovely contrasting light red in the photo. So oh dear, I am going to fix it. I will just not be happy with this long term as a pastel bouquet. Here it is with the new color starting to go in…looking just about perfect:

My version was very pastel looking…see how pinky pink that provided “red” is?

…So what I liked about the design was the almost primary colors colorway, the brightness of it. Here is a comparison…the new color on the left and the called for color on the right.

In the photo it isn’t a huge difference but in real life the darker color just pops so much better.
Looking through my silk stash, the winning color was Potters Clay from Silk N Colors. Honestly there was not a lot of this to pick out but I have to do it carefully in order preserve the other stitches. I have gotten it half done in an afternoon and am already much better pleased with the look.
