Baby Celebration Celebration!
Hooray! My Baby Celebration is finished! I added the last name after the picture for privacy. Fortunately with such long first and middle names the last name is short! And now on to the November goal: Random Thoughts.

I finished up Mr. Nutley Owl by Just Nan for this month’s Smalls SAL. Here he is! Isn’t he darling? I can see why these designs are addicting. It is just SO cute! I also finished up my Christmas Ornies SAL project for this month’s theme “O Christmas Tree.” This is the Christmas Tree Scissors Keep from The Victoria Sampler […]
I went into this year with 3 bigger projects: Random Thoughts by The Drawn Thread, Heirloom Nativity by Victoria Sampler, and Baby Celebration by Just Nan. Now do you even remember those first two?! Of course I did make good progress on all of them but none are quite finished! And they all could be! So with 3 months left […]
I live in Arizona as maybe you notice when I mention it occasionally and in October we are usually experiencing 90+ degree days regularly right up to Halloween. Ugh, right??!! Although it seems like this year has been a bit cooler than normal, our family still wanted to escape the end of summer heat and so we went to visit […]
I finished the alphabets in my La D Da projects. Here’s Lazy Alphabet And Leaping Cat For Lazy Alphabet there are a few more little flowers and things and then the border which is just a solid navy line and a dotted red line. Easy peasy! For Leaping Cat there is quite a bit more work- 3 trees, a bunch […]
Welcome all you visiting from Heather’s Smalls SAL! I feel like I have several little things going at the moment and it was too hard to decide which to finish for this month’s small! But ultimately all of them just had too much work to finish in the time I had left this week, so I picked up something new […]
I have been working on 4 La-D-Da designs this past week. And because I have one more in my “Do in 2018” pile and another on the way, neither of which I can justify starting without a finish, I needed a La-D-Da-A-Thon! But lest you think I neglected the Just Nan birth record (Baby Celebration) I did not! So I […]
I’ve indulged in a lot of daytime stitching and late nights. I should get more sleep…I should clean my house but…well, I’m sure you understand! Plus I started a new audiobook so what can I do??? I completed the bottom part of Lazy Alphabet: There is a solid navy line around the whole which I will do in hand last. […]
Here in Arizona it is hot, hot, hot! The heat really saps my energy! And, with the kids’ summer activities, I don’t have blocks of time for stitching, alas! However I do snatch moments here and there on a variety of small projects. Little by little it adds up, and I realize have quite a lot to show! First, my […]
Happy New Year!!! I feel like I should really take stock of my finishes for 2017 in one post to get a sense of what I really got done. I finished many smalls and many ornaments, thanks mostly to the smalls/ornaments SALs I’ve participated in! Here are my pin cushions: The two on the top left were stitched in 2016 […]

I started this blog in 2016 to chronicle my stitching life. My Grandma M. taught me to cross stitch when I was 7 and I’ve had a project (or many!) going since then. I am mostly a cross stitcher who regularly makes forays into other types of embroidery. A lifetime ago I studied French and art history but now I fit my stitching around a busy life raising 5 kids with my wonderful husband. Thank you for spending some time at my blog!
