This week I picked up Random Thoughts again after a break of about a month I guess while I was working on Heirloom Nativity. I started reluctantly because I so wanted to continue HN! But after that first day, with enthusiasm! I love this piece! I was drawn initially (ha ha) to the variety of motifs above all, and the […]
What am I working on? EVERYTHING! I’ve been busy this week. I finished the shepherds band! It is lovely. I put in the very first stitch on the lace and then I resisting continuing. I will pull out Random Thoughts tonight. I will put in the lace when I’ve made some progress on RT. Here is Heirloom Nativity so […]
February 1! How did we get here so fast? And in that short time, was I able to get anything done? Let’s see. Progress made on Heirloom Nativity: not as much as I wanted (I wanted to finish the shepherds row) but it is getting closer. I was hindered by needing to take out the wrong color I used on […]
Here is my January Small for the 2017 Small SAL sweetly hosted by Heather at Stitching Lotus! It is Mon Petit Jardin by Atalie. I stitched it in my own choice of mixed overdyes on 28 ct linen. And it is a day late because, I have to admit, even for the size and simplicity of this project, it was […]
It’s a week later than I wanted but you know how these things go. And it’s not like I’ve been sitting on my hands! Far from it! But I finally have my 3, no 4 ornaments finished off! First off, the Mill Hill Christmas Letter. I like this. It is one I plan to make again. Maybe one for everybody […]
The Joyful World SAL! I have been so excited to do this project since I discovered it last year. It is just the sweetest thing, large, and yet manageable, and so, so adorable. I’ve been accumulating the supplies and decided I just wouldn’t be happy with it unless I did it on some kind of over-dyed linen. I mean, I […]
I’ve been working away on these 3 ornaments in an effort to get them finished-finished so I can put them away with all the Christmas things! I need to take the tree down this weekend, so it looks like I have a shot! The Christmas SAL Partridge is done-just needs to be finished into something, Christmas Blessings needs half an […]
Ahh…it’s the first week of January and can I already be off track? Or am I enjoying an extended vacation and just living by my whims? That’s it. I’ll get serious next week! My whims have me doing 3 ornaments: First, Christmas Blessings is coming along nicely. Next up is a Mill Hill kit (you know how I love them) […]
At our house we are still celebrating the 12 days of Christmas with lots of cookies, games, and enjoying time off from the Real World. I am very excited about 2017 and my Grand Plans! I will continue Heirloom Nativity and Random Thoughts, with a reasonable hope of finishing them this year. And if I stay on my schedule, MID-year! […]

I started this blog in 2016 to chronicle my stitching life. My Grandma M. taught me to cross stitch when I was 7 and I’ve had a project (or many!) going since then. I am mostly a cross stitcher who regularly makes forays into other types of embroidery. A lifetime ago I studied French and art history but now I fit my stitching around a busy life raising 5 kids with my wonderful husband. Thank you for spending some time at my blog!
