Weekend finishing: The Garden Box
Having out finishing tools and stuff for the tooth fairy pillow inspired me to get going on more FFO’s this past weekend. I REALLY wanted to FFO the Jeannette Douglas Garden Box project I stitched last year. I guess doing so much button hole stitching on felt gave me a boost of confidence too with finishing this up. Here’s my beautiful mess about halfway through the process.

And here’s the full finish. I just love how it came out. I skipped the bee applique on the largest component and invented a scissor sheath for it. That really makes it a proper etui with scissors, ruler, needlekeep, and pin cushion. Oh my it is really sweet. It’s a great design. I love how all the pieces fit in the box so nicely.

I have a great pile of additional finishing on my ironing board (horizontal craft surface). Onward!
This is gorgeous! Very well done!
That’s beautiful, a great FFO
Wow, what fantastic finishes for that box! I like the scissor addition, it looks great.
What a fabulous finish. I love the way each pillow hides a secret underneath.
I also use my ironing board as a craft table, it’s the perfect height.
