Almost finished!
Mary Amelia’s Bird

Mary Amelia’s Bird

I have such a backlog of posts…written in my head…pictures on my phone…it’s a little overwhelming. I’m going to plunge ahead with the present. Maybe I’ll put in some back posts later. Anyway…here’s what’s up in my little stitching world.

The WIPGO this month called for me to work on Mary Amelia’s bird. Here is where I left it off in the fall of 2023 (how embarrassing!)…

And here we are after several days stitching in February…

I am SUPPOSED to finish it up this month and I will try. The bird itself is done, as is almost all the leaved and stuff on the left side of the chart. However only a little on the right side of the chart is done and it is a lot of boring leaves so it may be a slog. I’ll do my best. It’s relatively easy stitching with DMC on the called for Duxbury.

I do love this chart. I love the bird. And moreover, being called Mary Amelia’s bird, that is my mom’s mom’s name, Mary Amelia. I am named Mary after her so that’s important. I also recently picked up the perfect round frame for this and have a wall spot for it so that’s incentive too!

I’ve been stitching something else too…

This little rooster is from Heart’s Content. It is over 1 on 28 count. It will be about an inch square. I’m just finishing the background. It is very cute and tiny. I love how tiny it is. It is supposed to be a fob. I think I will put it in a teeny tiny frame instead. I’m coming to the conclusion it’s not super useful to have a fob hanging off all the scissors. It unbalances them when you need them to work sometimes. I think a tiny frame will be pretty charming. I think I have one that will work.

That’s all for now. I will try to get back into a blogging routine! You may know why it hasn’t been routine lately. I’ll share more about that next time.

The bird is very sweet. Leaves can definitely be tedious — but think how charming it will be when it’s done!

I went to The Attic while visiting friends in Tucson last month, what an *amazing* place!
