Cute
Two of my coworkers at the Attic were stitching something really cute from Nashville that I also had wanted to stitch…and said it is stitched up so quickly and we chatted and I got a good idea for a finish of it…so I came right home from work that day and kitted it up. I planned to show you my start a couple weeks ago but turns out I had a finish before I got around to taking a WIP picture. Here is the Pink Pear Hedgehog from Stacy Nash:

I’m think about adding a charm of a butterfly above the mushrooms…
I don’t care too much about the pear shape finishing part. I just love this hedgehog! He is so stinking cute!
I stitched on a nice piece of stash linen. It is 36 count Aged Paper from Colour and Cotton, I hope I don’t regret using the one piece I have on a small like this! I mean I maybe would prefer finding a larger design that calls for it or something…but I figure this is one of my favorite colors (based on the amount of pinky tan linen I have in my stash) and another project would probably be better on 40 count so it will be fine.
I’m planning an ornament style finish, and from there I’m planning the other Stacy Nash little kits I have to be ornaments (I mean how many needle books does a girl need anyway?!) and wouldn’t it be cute to have a spring tree covered in prim ornaments? There would be this one (maybe make it a peach not a pear) and a carrot and a parsnip…of course I’ll need some eggs too.
My thinking on this is…my mom used to have a beautiful Easter tree. German Erzgebirge bunnies and Ukrainian eggs on it…it was so pretty. She would use whatever spring shrub we had in flower depending where we lived…forsythia or pussy willow and it was just such a spring-y thing…well, these stitched ornaments will be too big for a table top tree but my wheels are spinning with inspiration! A branch on a wall? A faux tree for the corner the Christmas-time Jesse tree goes? I need more time to stitch if I want to fill a tree that size with spring ornaments, but I certainly have the charts to do it and I love the idea…
Where is my focus these days? I am supposed to be working on larger projects like Dorcas and Sacred! But stitching is better than no stitching, so I’ll take what I can get! Even if it is very scattered!
Such an adorable hedgehog! I love the ideas of how to display your spring ornaments, get stitching!
Thank you! Even 2 more smalls would combine with what I have to make a cute display so yet…need to get stitching!
Great ideas to display spring ornaments, the hedgehog is cute.
