Smalls. Starts.
No sooner do I get an idea in my head than I am distracted from the task at hand. I wrote last week’s post and then said to myself that I really should go looking for more smalls to work on this month. Looking for trouble more like! I found quite a few started smalls that I will aim to finish this month. Then I narrowed it done to these…
First is this stitching roll from Homespun Elegance. I don’t remember when I started it…last year? The M was half done when I picked it up.

It’s on a pre-made item, very sweet, but the linen has come undone from the base and I’ll have to fix it. There are several cute elements suggested to add…MOP buttons, a scissor charm, lace…to make it fancy when the stitching is done. Ok…challenge accepted.
Then there is the little start on this bird pin wheel by Fox and Rabbit. Again I think I put it down because I’m not a huge fan of the 100.3s it is stitched with, and I’m having trouble seeing the linen for some reason. Maybe I need to up to readers from the new glasses. Anyway, the finish is very cute so I’d really like to finish it off.

Next is this little piece by Fancy Work that is a lining for a scissor box. I now own the appropriate box. But I don’t really want to make a scissor bed after all. I think I just want a lining. I think I’ll modify the finish to put all the stitching on one linen and then just pop that piece into the box. The hard part is the over one stitching which looks great but is not my favorite stitching process. But again it’s mostly done!

Then I found the project bag I used for the Coxcomb Bouquet box I made last year…there is a coordinating pin cushion. I want to make that up so I can complete the set. I started it. Sometimes when that first thread is in, it is easier to just pick up and work on the next time.

And one other little start is this scissor fob from Fern Ridge…it’s strawberry theme and very sweet.

It just needs the topper part and the fringe. The fringe is pretty fabulous on this one with tiny enamel strawberry charms. That’s why I got it.
And that is all and that is enough! I hope to finish 4 smalls this month. Let’s see if I can do that!
