Some plans for 2026
WIPS to Work On
I’ve sorted out my many many project bags and have put a number in my workbasket to focus on this year…at least the first bit of this year. Most of these have been worked on pretty recently, and other will probably make you say, “Mary! You didn’t finish that yet?!” We’re not going to look and see when they were started. Feel free to search the blog to see when was the most recent year I worked on them.

New Projects to Prioritize
I also went through a lot of kitted projects this month trying to whittle down to the ones I’d most like to get a good start on this year. And so now…announcing the WIPs to be in 2026!
Joy by Shakespeare’s Peddler. I did the conversion for The Attic! I want to stitch it for myself!

I’m still looking for fabric and have to pick between the 2 pinks.
Abundant Table from Erica Michaels.

The verse on this…I love it. And the colors. It is SO rich looking. It’s charted in silk and I have 36 count pecan butter linen for it.
Floral Motif Sampler from Scarlett House. Using The Attic’s silk conversion on 40 count Fragile. It will be gorgeous.

What can I say, the flower motifs are the best parts of a sampler for me. I have loved this design a long time. Time to stitch it.
Friendship Gathering from Blackbird Designs. Another favorite that has been kitted up for a while. I love the colors and the folksy design. I’ll be using the called for cottons on 36 count straw.

Leafy Tree from Mary Corbet.

I came across my kit when I was looking for something else and you know what? This is the year to stitch this one. It is so small, but packs a punch with the bright colors.
There is a second basket of WIPS and kitted projects in the wings. Maybe some of them will migrate over. We’ll see.
Don’t ask me which will be started first. I will stitch as my whims take me!
What a lovely variety of stitching. When choosing what yo stitch do you pick the one you like best or the one you know what it will be or where it will go when finished, happy stitching
Thanks Clare!! I mostly pick what I feel like stitching without regard for the finished product. For example I live in a sort of modern style house and there’s not really very many big flat walls so I don’t have a place for a sampler wall. So my framed projects squeeze in here and there. I’ve used up most of my here and there’s at this point! I don’t know where I will ever hang Dorcas! I’ve been thinking of finishing small projects into a fabric book like I saw someone do with all their little HATS samplers. So anyway definitely the first option!! How do you choose?
More beautiful pieces, and so many pretty colours. I don’t know where I’d begin either!
