Cheerful Bouquet

I had the best intentions to work on Checkerboard Stag this week, especially since I knew I’d have some “wait around” stitching time…but I can’t for the life of me find the project bag for that one! I was tidying up my stitching area and I’m sure I put it in a “WIPs to work on basket” but it is not apparent which basket….perhaps I have too many baskets. So, I picked up a different WIP from my 2026 WIPs to work on, and have been enjoying that instead. Here is my progress on Cheerful Bouquet by Jeannette Douglas.

I do love Jeannette’s bouquet series, and this is one of my favorites. I have a perfect wall spot for it so that’s why I’ve wanted to work on it this year. It’s the kind of thing that will make me really happy to see finished every day, brightening up my kitchen. I will have to frame it with glass but that’s really getting ahead of myself! Let’s get stitching first!

I bought the kit and it’s nice to have all the needed flosses on a floss card. The colors are fun and while the counting is a little intense, it is nice that is is symmetrical because then you can use the one side to stitch the other side (as long as the one side is stitched correctly in the first place of course!). I think I’m stitching on 36 count Picture This Plus…not sure what color, maybe Legacy. I’m working from the middle out because I think my linen is pretty skimpy…here’s hoping I measured well.

Have a Cheerful Holy Week!
