Sampler September 2026

The September Sampler Soirée hashtag is back on Instagram again this year. I haven’t posted on IG in almost a year. It feels like it might be time to do that again and the September Sampler Soirée is as good a reason as any to start again.

I had mentioned I had a plan to work on Anna Millet this month, and try to get her half completed. I also plan to finish Mary Ellen Turner. In between I’ve got the BBD SAL. I’m still undecided on a bird project but I have a bunch to choose from so it will be a hard choice.

Sept 1 and 2 I was a good stitcher and I exceeded my minimum stitching daily requirement on Anna. I stitched 10 letters and some border. The goal is 3 letters and some border each day. Some of the letters were small. That’s ok. If I do more smaller letters in one day I can work on just 1 or 2 big letters on another day. However, you can’t notice much growth in just a couple days.

I didn’t stitch on Mary Ellen, but here is our start of the month picture for the record. The goal for this month is a full finish. I am still deciding if I want to personalize the cartouche or keep Mary Ellen’s signature there.

I have a huge mess of stash on my floor from the BBD kit-a-thon and I am still sorting it out to get it cleaned up.

My cold is better and I need to buckle down to some neglected home chores. I also need to make my family a proper dinner after quite a few nights of “fend for yourself.” We are having fancy short ribs tonight in the slow cooker. It has been many years since I’ve made it, but short ribs were on a good sale so I decided to splurge on them. This is an amazing dish. I am so excited for dinner.
