Fully Finished July

Thank you, Rachel, for hosting the FFO Gallery! Such good motivation for that final push to finish projects! Here is my Faby Reilly “Let It Snow” biscornu. Whew! So glad to have this one in the books. I think it’s lovely though and am so glad I stuck with it. I found the sew-on Swarovski crystals on Etsy from Crystallized […]

July Plans

This month I’m going to try hard not to start anything new. I have plenty to work on. I definitely plan to finish up my Silk and Satin project from Betsy Morgan. I got my missing silk color and it’s quite close to a finish. I like working on this little crewel rocking horse ornament. It’s a fun diversion and […]

Foxy!

Foxy is finished!! Hooray! I put off that tail for months because I knew it would be hard and it was! But I persevered! I had to redo it several times and thank goodness designer Becky Hogg gave plenty of materials. I wasn’t even close to running out. I must say I am quite pleased with myself and how it […]

June 2020 Smalls Check In

I finally finished the stitching on the Let It Snow biscornu from Faby Reilly. It is beautiful but I did not love stitching it. I’m not going to list all the reasons why, I’m just going to enjoy that it’s done! I’ve made several biscornus so I’m expecting this to be a cinch to finish off. Hopefully you’ll see the […]

All things bright and beautiful

I finished the Jiffy crewel “I Love You!” Ornament. So fun! My baby girl picked out this one to do next so I will make it for her. She loves going on a rocking horse. Whenever we go to Hobby Lobby we always must plan for 10-15 minutes to ride the rocking horsies in the foyer. They are the old […]

We interrupt this cross stitching…

To bring you a fun little crewel project! I saw someone online had finished this little design and remembered I had it in my stash too! I had to make it up. Plus my eyes were tired the other night and I wanted to do something less taxing. This is 3 stitching sessions for me and one more tonight should […]

Fully Finished June

Many thanks again to Rachel for hosting the monthly “Fully Finished Gallery!” It is an opportunity to show off fully finished stitches and provides great motivation every month to keep things out of the “drawer of shame.” (that special drawer or box we all have of stitched pieces that never get that final touch!) I finished up 4 small projects […]

Keeping it real: Two stories about frogs

Why is it that small projects often give the most trouble? I have 2 lovely projects I was working on last week and both have given so much hassle. I think I’m not paying attention! I’ve been careless and it is wasting my time! Let me tell you about it! Last month I showed my start on Betsy Morgan’s Satin […]

Jump into Spring!

Who else stays up too late when you’re close to a finish? That was me last night, and I’ve finished Jump Into Spring. The basket and 3 rows of special stitches were fun, and quick! Here’s my backing fabric and a little butterfly charm to dress is up. I felt like this design just really called for a butterfly! The […]

Found it! Found it!

I found my DMC 225 and finished Just Nan’s Celestial Collaboration last night. I have an ambitious finishing plan. You will not see it this month. Or even next month. This idea has to bake a while! 🙂
