After my horrible weekend of picking out all my work, I buckled down Sunday night, stayed up way too late, and got on a roll with some good progress. Finally! I kept it going and was able to get most of G and H finished before the end of the month, and also start on I. Sigh of RELIEF! I […]
I’m so mad. I usually only have visit from “tadpoles” but this weekend was visited by a big bad ugly FROG. Maybe even it was a toad. I started GHI of the Sampler of Stitches. I did the first 3 motifs…I started the frame and the letter G. Lots of red thread ok? I thought I’d take a break on […]
Here is my Small for August. Indeed it is the only thing I stitched on this month at all. I am a little bummed about that. I hope next month will have more stitching. However, I do like this finish. It is so refreshing and tranquil when life has been so hot and hectic this month! Mountain Lake from Louise […]
I’ve been enjoying my little full coverage project “Mountain Lake.” Once I had “the bones” in—the larger color areas and darkest chart symbols—it’s been fun to fill in the missing pieces like doing a puzzle. I only had to take out 3 stitches due to miscounting. Yay! I’m glad it is small. Without seeing the light at the end of […]
It’s been a little quiet around here hasn’t it?! Please don’t worry, I’m well but the last two weeks have been extraordinarily busy. I went on a mother/daughter weekend retreat with my 12 year old two weeks ago and chaperoned my 14 year old son on his 9th grade camp out this past weekend. These were special experiences but left […]
Ta DAH! The lid was fun. It only took me until doing the lid to figure out the color scheme of this project with some accuracy! I’ve mostly been relying on the color copy of the project for color placement but not all my colors are positioned correctly. That’s ok. It still looks good! You do not stitch the central […]
I finished the fourth side of the Spanish Sampler Etui! It wasn’t hard. I just needed to do it. The next thing I should do are the inner pockets which are a simple satin stitch pattern. But I decided to tackle the lid. I’m still loving this project!
For my Small this month, I used Jo’s People’s Choice-Pets Edition, as my inspiration to finish the stitching on a Chessie and Me project I started last year. I think it is called “Beneath the Bough.” This was supposed to be a fob. I decided it was way too big and I’d make a needlebook instead with the same picture, […]
I finished the 4th section of The Drawn Thread’s Sampler of Stitches DEF. It is nice to get something done. I think this one took me longer because on several stitches I redid them in different colors after they were already stitched. Also for some reason I made a lot of mistakes that had to be redone. Hopefully the frog […]
I’m taking part in Jo’s People’s Choice this month to highlight pet themed stitching. For me, that means cats. Although I don’t have any pets at the moment, until recently I had cats my whole life, and before children I also went through a period of serious fish-keeping. But I learned that aquarium fish are more a hobby than a […]
